Who we are
This is the privacy and cookie policy for CABINET OF DREAMS. The address of the website is https://cabinetofdreams.com. I, Marie Fredriksson-Söderman, Sweden, am responsible and own the website and all its content, and I am also in charge of all the administration and web editing. You can contact me by email.
Your personal integrity is important and I strive to protect your personal data in the best possible way. I never sell personal information.
Here follows a link to the Terms & Conditions.
Introduction and a brief summary of our privacy policy
When you purchase something from a webshop, this or any other, you share information about yourself, for example where you live, which email address you have and what you are buying.
Processing of data is necessary to fulfill an agreement or take action before an agreement is made between you as a customer and me as the one responsible for the website. The processing of data is also necessary to fulfill a legal obligation that is incumbent on me as the person in charge of personal data. This is according to Article 6 in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR), in Swedish Allmän dataskyddsförordning, artikel 6.
I collect as little information as possible. What I need to know is your name, shipping address, email address and possibly your mobile phone number in order to be able to deliver your order or to contact you regarding your purchase. I use cookies on this website in order to enhance safety, functions and your experience when you are visiting CABINET OF DREAMS. Some cookies analyze the traffic on the website. The duration of the cookies range from everything between one session up to one year. You are always free to reject all cookies apart from the “necessary”, and you can change your settings whenever you want to, by clicking on the cookie icon in the lower left corner on every page. Information about your order including your name and contact information will be saved in order to fulfill legal obligations up to and including the seventh year after the end of the calendar year in which the financial year ended. Only I have access to your information. I do not collect any information for advertising or marketing purposes, and I never sell your personal information to third parties. I only share your data with the shipping company in order to fulfill your delivery after purchasing an item, or if I am required to do so by law or court order.
The payment options available are PayPal and direct bank transfer to my Swedish bank account i Nordea Bank, Sweden.
You are not able to log in to the website nor to create a membership profile. Likewise you are not able to comment, share or upload anything. I do not send newsletters or any other advertising or marketing material.
Your integrity is important and I strive to protect your personal data in the best possible way. Below I will describe in more detail to what extent I collect information about you and how that information is processed.
In this privacy policy I will use “personal information” and “personal data” synonymously.
What personal data we collect, why we collect them and in which systems your information get into
Server. This website uses the A2Hosting servers in Michigan, USA. A2Hosting Inc. is an American web-hosting company with servers in the US, Canada and Europe. A2 Hosting does completely support GDPR compliance. This goes for all services regardless where the servers are located. Here are a few links if you want to read more about A2 Hosting Inc. in this matter.
Publishing platform. I use WordPress as publishing platform. Since you are not able to leave comments, create membership profile/log in or upload any content to the website, no information about you is saved in the WordPress system.
E-commerce solution. I use WooCommerce as e-commerce solution. I also use some of the ProfilePress features for checkout and order administration in order to make the purchase process even smoother. Further down I will describe these in more detail.
Payment solutions. I receive payments via PayPal and Direct Bank Transfer to my bank account in Nordea Bank, Sweden. More about these payment solutions in the WooCommerce paragraph further down.
Integrity. In order to create an agreement banner, that pops up when you visit this website, I use the plug-in CookieYes. CookieYes uses a cookie in order to recognize the user’s settings regarding agreement. This cookie has a duration of one (1) year and is necessary.
E-mail. E-mail via link or the little letter icon in the header will be sent through the plug-in WP Mail SMTP Lite. This plug-in only store the preferences which the plug-in uses in the website’s database. This means that no user or personal information what so ever is collected or stored by the plug-in. In my settings in the WP Mail SMTP Lite, emails are sent to my mailer and cloud service Apple iCloud. All emails that are sent to the website’s email address simultaneously get into my account on my webhosting server (A2Hosting Inc.). I have syncronized the email service on the server with Apple iCloud, so if I for instance erase something in one place, it will simultaneously be erased on the other. Apple iCloud uses strong security methods, applies strict principles to protect personal information and leads the industry in using privacy-preserving security technologies such as end-to-end encryption for your data. End-to-end encryption is a safety method that protects the communication. If you want, you can read more about Apple’s Privacy Governance.
Safety and Protection. The website is protected by the following plug-ins: Google reCAPTCHA, an advanced tool for risk analysis to identify bots to protect the website against malicious spam attacks, and WP Cerber Security. My preferences for these plug-ins are made to follow the GDPR law.
Other plug-ins that I use on the website are only for my own administration of the website, and to increase the functionality and speed. These plug-ins do not collect any information what so ever about you as a visitor/customer, and therefore I don’t describe them any further on this page.
Database. When you purchase something from cabinetofdreams.com your order is processed through several steps, so that I will be able to handle it and send your item(s) to you. I use a database where all my products, all pages, photos and everything else which you’ll find on this website are stored. When you place an order, it will also be saved in this system. The database is situated on the webhosting server (A2 Hosting Inc.).
Only I have access to this information. The system stores the information for me, but does not process it in any way, and does not pass it on to me unless I specifically ask for it. For example, if there for some reason was a problem with an order, I may, with the help of the system investigate the order and troubleshoot. Your order will include information about which product(s) you have bought and in what way you pay (PayPal or Direct bank transfer). I neither ask for, collect or store any information about credit cards, personal ID numbers or the like, and will never get access to such information in any way. PayPal or your bank (when you use the Direct bank transfer option in the checkout) may ask for this information. The order which will be stored, will include the address to where I shall send the item(s), as well as your email address and phone number. It is also from this system you will receive an email message with your order confirmation.
If you purchase something from the website, I will ask you for your name, your address, your email address and also your (mobile) phone number. This is because I will have to know where to send your order, and so that your postal service will be able to contact you in order to deliver, but also in case I need to contact you regarding your purchase. You will never share sensitive information with me and I will never ask for it. Information about your order including your name and contact information will be saved in order to fulfill legal obligations up to and including the seventh year after the end of the calendar year in which the financial year ended. This I am obliged to according to the Swedish law, the Accounting Act (Bokföringslagen (1999:1978) 2 §, 7 kap., first paragraph).
Delivery. I use the Swedish postal service PostNord as shipment method. When I purchase the shipping for your order, I will have to share your name, your address, your email address and phone number with PostNord, in order to be able to deliver your order. When your package reaches your borders, your domestic postal service will take over and complete the delivery. Here is the PostNord’s Privacy Policy.

Contact form
Contact Form 7 is a WordPress plugin for handling contact forms. That’s what you will be using when you fill in the Contact form. I use the standard version of the plug-in which does not trace users, not write any personal information about the user to the database, not send any data to external servers or use cookies. The plugin in itself does not save any messages. According to the developer of Contact Form 7, the plugin is “privacy friendly”. When you click “send”, after filling the form, the message will be sent to the email address info @ cabinetofdreams (.) com and the reply you will receive will also be from that address.
Emails sent to the info @ cabinetofdreams (.) com address will be stored on my web hosting servers (A2Hosting Inc., which you have read about earlier on this page). This goes for messages sent through the contact form as well. All messages to this website will simultaneously show up in my Apple iCloud mailer service, according to my settings on the server. These two services are being syncronized.
The only information you leave when using the contact form is your name, email address and your message, so that I will be able to answer. Only I have access to your information and it will be stored in my mailbox for three months, if a follow-up will be needed. If your inquiry leads to an order your information will be stored as long as I am obliged by law to do so (see above for further information regarding this). I never use contacts for marketing or the like, and I never sell any information to third parties. If you want to read more about this plugin in relation to GDPR you can read more on the developer’s own website.
