ARABIA, Finland annual Christmas Plate Year 1978. No. 1 in Series. Design: Raija Uosikkinen. Limited edition. Ø ca 23 cm / approx. 9 inches. Stoneware with hand-painted gold decoration. Made in Finland.

The Series is dedicated to pictures showing Nordic Christmas celebrations and traditions during the late 19th century. People, landscapes and millieus are created by the Finnish artist Raija Uosikkinen. This plate in blue and gold shows a village in a snowy landscape in the woods with a church in front. The villagers are sledging in old fashioned sledges drawn by horses.

The plate has never been displayed and comes in excellent condition with the original box. The box may show some wear due to age.
