ARABIA, Finland annual Christmas Plate Year 1979. No 2 in Series. Design: Raija Uosikkinen. Limited edition. Ø ca 23 cm / approx. 9 inches. Stoneware with hand-painted gold decoration.

The Series is dedicated to pictures showing Nordic Christmas celebrations and traditions during the late 19th century. People, landscapes and millieus are created by the Finnish artist Raija Uosikkinen.

The picture in blue and gold shows a farm in the woods with a church and a village nearby. The men are working with the timber. The plate has never been displayed and comes in excellent condition with original box. (On the backside are a few thread thin marks. I believe it might be the gold colour that has left these during the manufacturing process.)
