Description
The first edition 1975 annual plate in series Swedish Christmas from Elgporslin (Elg Porcelain), Sweden is called Good Old Sweden / Sörgården. The drawing by Birger Värnild shows a traditional Swedish house with white fence, a garden and people in seemingly old-fashioned clothes. The border in white and blue is a wintery landscape with a church, a Santa and a Christmas tree. The motif is rather kitchy with its mishmash of colours and motifs (summer scene vs. Christmas).
The plate measures Ø 19,5 cm / approx. 7,5 inches and was made in a world wide edition of 3000 numbered copies, this being number 353. No box.
Made in Sweden.
