Description

Internationally famous Swedish porcelain manufacturer Gustavsberg made a series of collectable plates for the beautiful borough Bromma in the western part of Stockholm, Sweden. This is Brommatallriken / The Bromma Plate 1981, Nockebybanan, the fourth plate in the series. Limited edition. Design Ulla Gina Andersson. Ø ca 22 cm / approx. 8,5 inches.

The plate shows a scene from the 1920s or -30s with several people waiting to enter one of the older trams at the station Höglandstorget on the tram line Nockebybanan, Line 12, in Bromma. The tram is, according to the sign, heading towards the destination Tegelbacken, in Stockholm City, which was the final station of the route until the Stockholm metro was taken into use in the early 1950s.

The plate is in very good condition, it has never been displayed. The backside has some chip-like holes in the bone china glaze, due to the manufacturing process. (I notice this on all Gustavsberg’s plates.). It comes with the original box. A suspension device is included in the box.

Made in Sweden.
