The Barnens dag (The Children’s Day) is a philantropic organisation founded in 1967, with its origin in the late 19th century Swedish summer camps for children from poor, urban families.

The Swedish porcelain company Elgporslin made the “Barnens Dag” annual plates series with motifs from Swedish illustrators of children’s books. The 1976 plate was the fourth in series and shows a typical scene from the children’s novel Emil i Lönneberga by Astrid Lindgren with illustrations by Björn Berg. Limited edition of 2600 pieces. This is number 625.

Excellent condition with original packaging. Measures Ø 21.5 cm / 8 inches.
