This is the Christmas Plate 1973 (Jultallrik 1973) by famous Swedish glass ware company Orrefors. The picture shows from the Gospel of Matthew, where the Three Kings bring their gifts to the newborn Jesus. Design: Lars Hellsten, Orrefors. First edition.

Lars Hellsten writes: I have attempted, somewhere among the seals of the Middle Ages, the simple narrative art of the old churches and the flourishing craftmanship of the Swedish peasantry, to establish the essence of this Christmas Plate.”

The plate is made of crystal glass and measures Ø 22 cm / approx. 8,5 inches. It has never been displayed and comes in excellent condition with original box. A hanging device is included in the box.
