Description

A beautiful plate from the series Orientalische Nachtmusik – Oriental Nightmusic, by Danish artist and designer Bjørn Wiinblad for German porcelain manufacturer Rosenthal, studio-linie. This is motif number 2: Mandolinenspieler – Mandolin Player. The series was made in the 1970s. Ø 15,3 cm / approx. 6 inches.

The plate depicts two mandolin players; a man and a woman. It is made of vivid colours of red, turquoise, purple, teal, yellow, orange with gold accents on cobalt or midnight  blue background. Bjørn Wiinblad signature in gold. A wall hanger is attached to the backside. The plate comes in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or marks. No box.
